Ok ok, so I was wrong in my pre-election day prediction.
So sue me.
Wait.
Don't sue me, I don't have the money. But I may have soon because pretty soon Obama is going to spread some of the wealth around, or so he's said anyway.
But I digress...
I did think that McCain might pull this one out, hoped he would, but in the end he couldn't overcome the juggernaut known as the Obama Campaign.
I think it happened because in the end, McCain wasn't different enough.
He certainly wasn't a conservative, he showed that throughout his years by defying conservative principals.
He was lockstep with the liberals in supporting cap and trade for one, and for another it was his ill conceived McCain-Feingold fiasco. Amnesty for illegal aliens. He was against drilling before he was for it. There are several more examples but I think you get the picture. He was perfect example of a RINO, "Republican In Name Only".
So I was wrong, Obama was elected and that is that. But it's not all bad, for one we have elected the first black person to the highest office in the land, despite that fact that he picked an ass like Biden to be his Vice President. That is an accomplishment in and of itself!
It is amazing that we were able to elect a black man to the highest office in the land. I just wish he wasn't a Socialist at heart and a sympathizer of terrorists.
But I'm going to put all that aside as well as the questions about his true birth country (still waiting on that birth certificate Barry!) and support the person that is about to take over the reigns of the country I love. How can I do anything different? I respect the office of President of the United States of America and all it stands for and I pray that he does not do it disservice. I know a lot of people are ready to see it happen but I am not. I don't want him to fail in keeping this country the greatest place on Earth (sorry Disneyland, love you but come on!).
It is now time to prove himself to the world but more importantly, to the citizens of the United States of America. He is about to take the reigns and work with a Democratic majority in Congress to take this Country on a journey I hope will be one of much success.
However, if he doesn't, if they don't, they have no one to blame but themselves. And we will be watching and waiting, hoping for the best. I am not holding my breath however, since he ran a campaign on hope and by portraying this country in such a negative light. Personally, I've had a pretty good 8 years under Bush. Yes there have been mistakes in handling the war, they were corrected and we have had success. Bitterness from the left though has been consistent and has spread, people never really took the time to research besides reading what the MSM told them to believe.
Cautiously optimistic , guarded in my hope, waiting for the change, but never faltering in my pride for our Country regardless of the past (unlike our future First Lady).
